Why do foreign companies prefer to outsource to India?

Research surveys have proved that India is the most preferred outsourcing location in the world. In the United States alone, more than 90% have ranked India as their first choice for outsourcing IT and software services.

Over the years, the United States, Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom have recognized the country of India as an outsourcing superpower.

Main Reason?

The cost of labour in India is much lower when compared to any other country. Though the cost of labour is low, there is no compromise on the level of quality.

See the salary trend below:

The availability of skilled manpower and cheap labour rates have attributed to the growth of the outsourcing business in India

Research surveys have even proved that Indian professionals are technically superior when compared with IT professionals from other countries. Global businesses love to outsource to India as they can get access to a highly educated workforce that is experienced, skilled, computer-literate and is the second largest English-speaking scientific, technically talented and executive manpower in the world.

Another biggest reason is the high potential of Indian market and economy. Besides, established big brands have already impregnated the U.S. and European markets. But, the Indian market still offers a lot of scopes and spaces for those to grow. Because India has large depository of skilled yet cheap labour. Hence, it becomes easy for the American companies to optimize their productions in India.

Our Childhood Dream

When we were kid, we had various dreams like everyone seems to be like I want to become pilot or singer or dancer or engineer and so on.

but,

As the time passes most of them tend to forget their dream or deviated from their dreams, Years passed away in a blink of an eye and suddenly we turn into adults.
Then the reality showed its true colours.
why?

Soon we start running in the rat race. In our pursuit to win the never ending rat race, we forget our real dream. We have compromise our dreams for a bigger pay check. May be because of the various responsibilities or some or the other reason.

American poet Mary Oliver wrote in her poem The Summer Day, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
So, what do you plan to do?
What were your big, beautiful childhood dreams?
Are you pursuing those dreams- someway, somehow- right now?

Listen to your childhood dreams. Discover what you really want to do. Do it, and you’ll find yourself changing the world-because you were born to change it.

While composing this blog a thought come in my mind that,

As a kid, my first dream was to serve for my mother land India, So I thought to become commando, who protects our border from terrorist and intruders,

Then I realized, army requires discipline and waking up early in the morning so I thought I should become a doctor as it is the noblest , the most respectable profession and would help me in serving my people and ultimately my country. but then I realized that I need to study for 10 years to become doctor.

Hence I weighed my option on a scale.

On one scale, I had an option to study for 10 years while on the other scale, the option was to study for 4 years.

Well, you all know the decision made by me.

Why Software Engineering is best profession?

Software engineering is one of the fastest growing fields in the world today, Software engineers can have higher innovation rates than any other field. Today software engineers have highest salary rates in the world compared to any other field.

And now being Software Engineer I want to keep my childhood dream of serving my India true so Along with my engineering, I have ambition of entrepreneur, because I want to serve my country by starting my own Company. I have always wanted to run my own company giving more employment opportunity to Indian citizens.

Another advantage of Software Company is that start-up costs for any kind of software business is very low. It is one of the reasons why I pursued Software Engineering.

Well, this is my story! What is yours??

Cheers!

Cooking is fun!

Cooking is something that many people do. Some do it as a profession, some do it for fun, and some do it because they have to. But All moms are excellent cook & you realize their importance only when you are staying away from home. Trust me, ‘there is nothing like a home cooked food’.

Although, I have been living on my own since last 5 years, yet I haven’t learned cooking. Yes, I have zero interest in cooking.

Honestly, I love to eat, but not to cook.

Before coming to Nitte (my engineering college), my mom had tried to teach me the basics of cooking but I showed least interest. Now, I wished I had paid attention to my mom advice on cooking (a small advice ‘always listen to your mom’ cause she is always right.)

Life in Nitte is extremely tough in weekends. You literally don’t have any shops open on holidays and weekends.

Desperate situation leads to desperate action. In my case, it lead to kitchen. After all “necessity is the mother of all inventions” so I found myself cooking. Yes, I can’t believe but I  started preparing rice and daal yesterday. Suddenly, I got interested in cooking and found that it’s fun and interesting.

Cooking has lot of similarity with engineering such as you become good in it only by experimenting with various combinations of vegetables and spices. Thus making cooking a serious art that colors your life.

From this incidence, I learned a very important lesson that ‘motivation comes from now, from within.’ This holds true for everything in life whether it’s cooking, studies and work. We need to be self motivated to achieve anything. On a lighter note, I hope this enthusiasm continues.
Note : No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing
Cheers!

My Favorite Film..

Everyone has a favourite film..,
My favourite movie is ‘Limitless’.
Why?
Its an outstanding delivery of a pretty neat idea.It has action, romance, thriller and science.
I am not going to tell you the story of the movie because if you haven’t seen it, open a new tab and watch it now. You are missing on life.
I am not big fan of movies but I have seen this movie countless times. Every time I see it, I get similar adrenaline rush shown in the movie when Eddie Morra (Bradly cooper) takes NZT (a special drug that can make your brain function at 100%).
When I first saw the ads for “Limitless” in the theaters, I was unimpressed. After all, it just seemed like a silly story to me, and one I’ve seen in different forms before. However, like any good film, the proof comes in the execution, and director Neil Burger executes the film incredibly well.
Since childhood I have an endless curiosity to learn whether its science, language, business, music etc. This movie depicts my curiosity and capabilities of a human brain which is limitless.
Also everyone has a bucket list, even I have one. I have a list of things to do and this movie reminds me that I need to complete my list.
Above all, it makes me wonder ‘what would I do if ever take NZT?” May be write a book or climb Mt Everest or just enjoy the present without worrying about the future.
